Use of Non-intrusive Inspection Technology
URA has a total of 48 NII equipment across the different Customs stations. Non-intrusive scanning enables URA detect mis-declaration, under-declaration, total concealment.
In addition, it is used to detect contraband, unaccustomed and prohibited goods and monitor radioactive goods. The use of NII has improved the inspection process and positively impacted the clearance times especially for the complaint Taxpayers.
